About Us

Southampton Elim Church is a pentecostal, family church based near the centre of Southampton on the south coast of England. Danny Miller is the pastor of the church. The church has existed for many years in Southampton, and has recently experienced a building development programme. This is an exciting time to be part of the church and involved in the new direction and vision of this fellowship.

Introduce, Equip, Impact

The vision of the church is to introduce people to Jesus and equip them with the tools of living-out their faith effectively, and impact the world around them.

Our structure and mission is to see all those who belong and attend Southampton Elim Church, fulfil the Call of God in their lives. That each have an encounter with Jesus who died for our sins. That all reach their potential and experience a church environment of love, kindness, fun, purpose and fulfilment.

There’s a place for you, come and join us.

beliefs & values

Do you know that God is more interested in your future, than your past.

Here at Southampton Elim Church we aim to reflect the nature and character of God. First and foremost, we desire that every person who attends the church is made to feel valued and warmly welcomed. It doesn’t matter what your past or background, we believe that God loves you so much. Maybe you believe but haven’t attended church for a long time? Maybe you’ve had to deal with disappointment in the church? We understand. Yet, despite the shortfalls of church, we believe it is God’s design for all to be part of a church gathering and to make a difference in the world around them.

In this church environment here in Southampton, we want you to settle, get grounded, make friends, stir up your ability, gifts and talents, and help you draw closer to Jesus and discover His plan and purpose in your life.

Here at Southampton Elim, we are re-purposing, we have a new pastor and a new vision. The message does not change, which is the good news of Jesus, and our delivery is still based on the Word of God (Bible), but our approach and direction is changing.

Why don’t you come and be part of this new and exciting chapter at the church?

Come along this Sunday, 10.30am

Southampton Elim Church is part of the Elim Pentecostal Church denomination. Elim is a movement of over 500 churches which began in 1915.

Our senior leader is Danny Miller. Danny has been in ministry for over 20 years and has pastored churches throughout the UK and USA. Danny is a bible graduate and has a Master’s in Missional Leadership. He is a gifted leader with an exceptional ability to communicate the Word of God.

Southampton Elim Church is a pentecostal family church and is part of the Elim Pentecostal movement.

Tens of thousands attend Elim churches every week. While the attendances range from small groups to some of the largest in the UK and Ireland, all our members share a set of beliefs known as our Foundational Truths.

These are doctrinal beliefs which explain our theology and are a statement of faith – they are powerful, non-negotiable and guide all we say and do.

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible, as originally given, to be without error, the fully inspired and infallible Word of God and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

THE SAVIOUR

We believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His real and complete humanity, in His sinless life, in His authoritative teaching, in His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice through His blood shed, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His heavenly intercession and His second advent to receive His Church.

HUMANITY

We believe in the inherent dignity and value of every person, as created in God’s image and likeness, male and female, to be in fellowship with God and serve God’s purposes in creation. Yet on account of the universal sinfulness of all people due to the Fall, humanity is subject to God’s righteous wrath and condemnation.

THE CHURCH

We believe in the spiritual unity and the priesthood of all believers in Christ and that these comprise the Church, the Body of Christ.

THE ORDINANCES

We believe in the baptism of believers in water in obedience to the command of Christ and the commemoration of Christ’s death by the observance of the Lord’s Supper until His return.

THE COMING KING

We believe in the personal, physical and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to reign in power and glory.

THE TRINITY

We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and that these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and sanctification, and that the believer is also promised an enduement of power as the gift of Christ through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following. Through this enduement, the believer is empowered for fuller participation in the ministry of the Church, its worship, evangelism and service.

SALVATION

We believe in the necessity for salvation of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by which the sinner is pardoned and accepted as righteous in God’s sight. This justification is imputed by the grace of God because of the atoning work of Christ, is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit and a holy life.

THE MINISTRY

We believe in the ministries that Christ has set in His Church, namely, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers and in the present operation of the manifold Gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament.

THE COMMISSION

We believe that the Gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the Gospel to the world and to fulfil a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.

THE FUTURE STATE

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and in the final judgement of the world, the eternal conscious bliss of the righteous and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked.
